1 killed, 4 buried in building collapse

SHENYANG - A construction worker was killed and four others are still buried under debris after buildings being demolished collapsed Wednesday in northeast China's Liaoning Province, rescuers said.

The accident occurred around 9 am in Luyuan neighborhood in Xingcheng City, where old residential buildings were being torn down by workers, said an official with the rescue headquarters set up by the city government.

Fire fighters using life detecting devices and sniffer dogs are trying to locate the missing, he said.

The exact cause of the accident is as yet not known.
