CCTV website to be replaced by internet TV

China Central Television's (CCTV) newly launched internet TV is set to replace its website from 2010, xinhuanet.com reported on Tuesday.
The current channels of China Network Television (CNTV) include news, sports, entertainments and podcasts. It will expand from 2010 with more channels, like finance, film, discovery, health, weather, music, said Shan Xiaolei, the secretary of the CNTV preparatory office.
CNTV combines TV and network functions with a multi-language, globalized and multi-terminal platform.
The statistics from the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) shows there are 338 million web users in China, 222 million of which are online video users.
