First serious H1N1 case reported in Guangzhou

Updated: 2009-08-13 16:10 Guangdong province confirmed seven new A/H1N1 flu cases Wednesday, including one in Guangzhou in which the patient has lost consciousness, the Guangzhou Daily reported Thursday. The patient is a 17-year-old Guangzhou student, who reported a fever on August 5. He was hospitalized on August 6 with a cardiac arrest, and is currently being closely monitored in the hospital. His parents also have the flu, but they are doing well. As of August 12, Guangdong has reported 577 cases of A/H1N1 flu. 566 of those infected have recovered fully. |
