A: The Osaka World Exposition in 1970, which centered on the theme of "Progress and Harmony for Mankind". It attracted 64 million people, only 1.7 million of whom were not Japanese. The aim of Asia's first world exhibition was to pay tribute to technological progress, while at the same time casting a critical eye on its impact on society.
