Couple filing for divorce get new marriage papers

Updated: 2009-06-24 08:57 A couple who visited the government office to file for divorce complained to the media after they realized they left with a new marriage certificate in Haikou, capital of Hainan province, on Thursday. The couple arrived in the city's Longhua District Marriage Registration Office and completed all the procedures for divorce in the morning. But they found they were each given a new marriage certificate when they got home. The man said he had a quarrel with his new girlfriend because the woman thought the man tried to trick her. The marriage registration office later admitted it made a mistake and apologized. (Hainan Special Zone Daily) |
