Man spends two days guarding faulty ATM

Updated: 2009-05-07 09:20 A man spent two days camped out in front of an ATM after his cash failed to come out of a tampered machine. The man surnamed Zhang saw that his receipt showed the money was deducted from his account but he didn't get cash from the ATM located in the Shenzhen special economic zone, Guangdong province. Other people near him told him that they had a similar problem and then he called the bank's hotline and police for help. Police told him some crooks had damaged the machine and provided a false number to call. Callers were told to transfer their money to a new account, which the crooks controlled. (www.sznews.com) |
