Elderly admits to killing wife over mental disorder

Updated: 2009-02-27 09:41 An 83-year-old man strangled his 79-year-old wife on Valentine's Day, in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, and then said he did it because he was tired of taking care of the woman. The old man, surnamed Zhang, first said his wife fell off her bed and died. But as police began an autopsy, Zhang admitted that he strangled his wife. He said he killed her because she had a mental disorder and he was tired of caring for her. Neighbors told police that Zhang had been behaving abnormally in recent days. If he's found to have a mental disorder, he may not be charged. (Yangtze Evening News) |
