Reveller dies after day of drinking with friends

Updated: 2009-02-11 09:37 A middle-aged man is believed to have drunk himself to death after getting together with friends at the weekend. The deceased, who was in his 40s, had joined pals at a restaurant in Beijing's Haidian district on Saturday night. "He began to drink with them at lunch, with many bottles of liquors and beers consumed," a waiter at the restaurant said. "Even after the others left, he kept drinking until one came back and found him lying on the floor." Medics called to the scene found the man covered in vomit. He had already stopped breathing and doctors believe he died of alcoholism. (Beijing Times) |
