Imitation sincerest form of flattery for bird hunter

Updated: 2008-12-27 08:19 Chen Guoxiong, 50, a Heshui villager in Guangzhou's Tianhe district, can mimic many birds and distinguish female and male birds from their whistle. He can even mimic the song of a female bird attracting a male bird.
 Chen learned mimicry from his 87-year-old father when he was a kid. But now Chen seldom has the opportunity to use his skills to hunt birds, because it has been banned in his area since the early 1990s. This number of wild birds had slumped since forestry areas were used for industrial and property projects in his village. (Guangzhou Daily)
