'Lucky' dumpling proves unlucky for grandpa

An elderly man in Shanghai almost choked to death on Friday after he ate a dumpling containing a coin.

Li suddenly had difficulty breathing after he ate a dumpling made by him and his grandchildren.

The old man had to be rushed to hospital, where surgery was required to remove the coin from his throat.

Li's grandchildren later admitted that they got the idea to put the coin in the dumpling from a TV drama, believing that anyone who ate a dumping containing a coin would be lucky.
