Jude Law: I regret hurting Miller

Updated: 2006-10-03 15:19

Jude Law has spoken about the anguish of his split from Sienna Miller, saying that he regrets any pain he caused.

The Hollywood couple split last year after it was revealed Law had an affair with his children's nanny, but are now back together.

Now he has spoken for the first time about the agonising period. "I didn't want to hurt anyone," he explained. "I've apologised to the people I think matter in that situation. There's not really an awful lot more I can do or say.

However, the star told GQ magazine he thought, in the long run, he had done the right thing and that his life was now back on track.

"You can't run away," he declared. "You have to take it on the chin and learn somehow to hold your head up high and face up to it. You can't spend your life apologising.

"In a way your responsibility in f****g up is to show that you've learned from it, that you admitted to it and hopefully you then move forward and not do it again."

Saying he was now happier, he added: "It feels like the cards are settling and I'm getting a sense of calm in personal and public life. So things are good."
