XIAMEN - The 18th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), which attracted 932 delegations from 110 countries and regions, kicked off on Monday in Southeastern coastal city of Xiamen.

The four-day event, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, is a platform for both domestic and overseas participants to cooperate and explore business opportunities.

The CIFIT this year will feature topics such as the 21st-century maritime Silk Road, trade across the Taiwan Strait, foreign direct investment and cross-border e-commerce.

A string of exhibitions, forums and roundtable talks will be held and a number of deals are expected to be signed.

The CIFIT has been held annually since 1997 and it is now the world' s largest investment and trade fair approved by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.
