Hong Kong stocks close 0.06% higher--July 7

HONG KONG--Hong Kong stocks edged up 12.63 points,or 0.06 percent to close at 22,530.18 on Thursday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index opened 0.31 percent higher and advanced further to 0.66 percent higher by midday. The index was heading downward in the afternoon session and closed near the day- low of 22,523.93.

Hang Seng China Enterprises Index, which tracks the Hong Kong- listed mainland shares, gained 0.33 percent.

Turnover totaled HK$62.13 billion. ($1 equals HK$7.782)
