Gold price opens higher in Hong Kong

HONG KONG -- The gold price in Hong Kong went up HK$40 to open at HK$14,300 per tael on Tuesday, according to the Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society.

The price is equivalent to $1,542.89 a troy ounce, up $4.31 at the latest exchange rate of one US dollar against HK$7.78.
