Chinese shares close higher at midday Monday

BEIJING -- Chinese shares closed higher in the morning session on Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.47 percent, or 12.84 points, to 2,722.78 at midday.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 82.12 points, or 0.71 percent, to 11,547.83.
