YANGON, Myanmar -?A Sinopec International Petroleum joint venture has discovered gas deposits in northwest Myanmar with a capacity of 2.1 million cubic feet per day, Reuters reported Monday, citing?local?media's reports.
according to the report, the international trading arm of China Petroleum?and Chemical Corp, made the find in Myanmar's Mahutaung region about 520 miles Northwest of? Yangon, the country's biggest city.
Test wells were drilled by the joint venture between Sinopec and Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise, an official was quoted as saying in the Kyemon Daily, adding that tests on three more wells would be conducted.
