Chinese shares close lower on Thursday

Chinese equities fell Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 2.34 percent, or 70.86 points, to end at 2,960.47.

The Shenzhen Component Index slid 312.17 points, or 2.50 percent, to close at 12,193.16.
