BYD plans to buy Hunan bus-making company

Chinese battery and electric car maker BYD Co is planning to buy a bus-making company in Hunan province to increase production of alternative fuel vehicles, according to the Hunan Economic Committee's website.

BYD, part owned by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway would pay at least 2 billion yuan ($293 million) to acquire Hunan Sanxiang Bus Group from the Midea Group, the committee said on its website.
