CISA suggests revision on export rebates


The CISA has submitted a proposal to the MIIT asking to revise the existing export rebate rates with an objective to improve external environment. In order to reduce pollution and save energy, China now imposes 13 percent of export rebate rate on stainless and cold rolled steel, zero on hot rolled steel and 15 percent of export duty on long products. With the worsening export situation, the country’s net steel imports in April reached 893,400 tons, much greater than 46,000 tons in March. In the first quarter, China produced 69.26 million tons of long products, up 9.9 percent; consumed 68.85 million tons, up 13.99 percent...
