China National Coal Group 2008 profit up 41.6%

China National Coal Group Corp, the country's second largest coal producer, said its net profit of 2008 rose 41.6 percent from a year ago, to 11.3 billion yuan ($1.65 billion).

The company also reported a sales revenue of 71.9 billion yuan, an increase of 26.5 percent from 2007.

The Beijing-based company produced 114.11 million tons of coal last year, a growth of 8.7 percent from a year earlier.
