China forges overseas labor cooperation service system

Wu said an affordable insurance to guarantee that workers fulfill their contracts has also replaced the former burdensome deposit required from the workers.
"Most of the workers are not well-off. It is a big burden for them to put down such a large sum of money as a deposit. Therefore, we have taken measures so that they can buy insurance instead, which will cost them only several hundred yuan," said Wu.
Chen Jian, an official with the MOFCOM, pointed out that foreign labor cooperation plays an important part in China's international economic and trade cooperation. It has provided employment and improved the local economy, and also helped raise the living standards of the workers.
"China's foreign labor cooperation does not aim at exporting its labor force, nor are we turning to other countries to reduce our employment pressure. Promoting foreign labor cooperation under the principles of International Trade Services, China provides some overseas industries with sufficient labor to increase their competitiveness. Partners of the cooperative projects can therefore complement each other with their respective advantages to reach win-win," said Chen.
Chen added that most of the workers choose to return to China when their contracts expire, and they won't pose employment or immigration problems to other countries.
