Huaxia profit rises

Huaxia Bank Co Ltd said its net profit for 2006 rose 13.87 percent to 1.45 billion yuan, boosted by strong revenue growth.

The company's core business revenue in 2006 climbed 31.22 percent on the previous year to 18.08 billion yuan, it said in its annual filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange yesterday. The bank's total assets stood at 445.05 billion yuan at the end of last year, up 25.04 percent from the end of 2005.
