Ripe time for Shanghai Port

Updated: 2006-09-09 09:33 The container throughput of the Shanghai Port reached 13.9574 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in the first eight months of this year, of which, 1.950 million TEUs were handled in August, according to statistics from the Ministry of Communications. The container throughput of Yangshan Port, a part of Shanghai Port, realized 280,000 TEUs in July this year, the highest monthly record since the deep-water port opened in December last year. According to statistics, in the first half of this year, Shanghai Port's international container transshipment reached 279,000 TEUs, of which, 50 percent were from Yangshan Port. ......
