A 4,000-square-meter humanoid robot training center has opened in Pingyin county, Jinan, marking a major step forward in the city's push to develop its robotics industry. As the largest facility of its kind in Shandong province and the first in Jinan, the center currently houses 45 humanoid robots undergoing high-fidelity training across 11 real-world scenarios, from industrial sorting to household tasks.

Designed as a data production hub rather than a conventional showroom, the facility focuses on generating high-quality training datasets. Using visual reality (VR) devices and sensory controllers, operators transmit human actions – such as lifting a pot or swiping a hotel key card – into robots for replication. Each movement generates thousands of data points, enabling the center to generate more than three million high-quality data entries annually and support the transition from task-specific programming to more generalized intelligence.

The center is expected to play a key role in strengthening Jinan's robotics ecosystem. The datasets produced are tailored to support applications in manufacturing and logistics, helping accelerate industrial upgrading. By combining the technological capabilities of Leju Robot with Pingyin's local industrial foundation, the project enhances the city's competitiveness in intelligent robotics.

The project also reflects Jinan's broader innovation-driven development strategy. Leveraging Pingyin's strengths in elderly care and rose processing, the center provides diverse real-world scenarios for training. This is supported by coordinated efforts in talent development through local vocational institutions and continued investment in R&D and scenario expansion, ensuring the sector's sustained growth.
