The launch ceremony for the China-Central Asia Publishing Centre, jointly established by Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, was held on March 16 at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Science and Technology Valley in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The ceremony was attended by over 200 guests and representatives from the political, academic, business, and media sectors of both nations.

Chai Wei, vice president of XJTU, delivers a speech at the launch ceremony.

Chai Wei, vice president of XJTU, noted that the university has always regarded serving national strategies and promoting open cooperation as its mission. XJTU is currently leading the construction of the China-SCO Higher Education Cooperation Center, dedicated to creating a benchmark platform for talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation, and cultural exchange within the SCO framework.

The China-Central Asia Publishing Centre is one of the first projects to be implemented under this blueprint. As XJTU approaches its 130th anniversary and the 70th anniversary of its westward relocation, the completion of this project serves as a vivid reflection of the continuous efforts of generations of XJTU faculty members and students.

During the ceremony, both parties signed agreements for several key publishing projects, laying a solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation. Han Yongjun, chairman of XJTU Holding Co, presented Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with Chinese-language books on artificial intelligence, robotics, and new energy, providing a convenient window for Central Asian teachers and students to understand China's technological advancements.

The center aims to cooperate in key areas, including publishing collaboration, digital platform construction, the translation of classics, and talent training, with the goal of building the center into a window for mutual learning between Chinese and Kazakh civilizations, a platform for publishing cooperation, and a bridge for people-to-people connectivity.
