Within six days of release, the series surpassed a popularity index of 10,000 on iQIYI's domestic platform. It also debuted at No 1 on iQIYI International's weekly Top 10 Chinese-language dramas chart, while also topping related search trends on Google and earning high ratings on MyDramaList, an overseas aggregator for Asian drama fans.

The story follows Xie Zheng, a fallen marquis seeking revenge for a long-standing feud, and Fan Changyu, a butcher's daughter striving to support her family. Their relationship begins with a marriage of convenience after a chance encounter, but evolves into a deeper bond tested by war, political turmoil, and personal vendettas.
According to Google Trends, the series ranked first in search volume for Chinese dramas in 15 markets, including the United States, Canada, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, and Singapore. It also leads globally among Chinese historical dramas released so far in 2025.
On MyDramaList, the show opened with a score of 9.0, later rising to 9.1, marking the highest debut rating for a Chinese drama on the platform in the past two years.
The series has also generated sustained engagement on overseas social media, with related topics trending on X in countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Brazil.
The success of Pursuit of Jade has boosted viewership of its lead actors' earlier works on iQIYI International, with multiple titles climbing the platform's all-time Top 10 chart.
