Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said on Thursday that safeguarding an open, inclusive, and universally beneficial international trade environment serves the common interests of all countries, following the US proposal to?create a new critical mineral trading bloc.

Responding to a question at a regular press briefing, Lin said all parties share the responsibility to play a constructive role in maintaining the stability and security of global supply and industrial chains for critical minerals.

"At the same time, we oppose any country using bloc-based rules to undermine global trade and economic order," Lin said.
