Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, visited Shanghai on Friday, underscoring the importance of the Chinese market to the US semiconductor company, which has been subject to a series of US export controls on its most advanced AI chips to China, sources told China Daily.
Huang is scheduled to visit Beijing following his Shanghai trip. He is in China to attend Nvidia’s New Year gathering with employees and to meet key Chinese clients, the sources said.
The visit follows a decision by the US government allowing Nvidia to sell its H200 chips to approved customers in China. The H200 is one generation behind Nvidia’s latest Blackwell chips.
