China kicks off ice and snow consumption season in Harbin
China launched the National Ice and Snow Consumption Season on Monday in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province, as part of the country's broader efforts to boost consumption under the "Shopping in China" initiative, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
As a key nationwide campaign, this consumption season aims to better integrate winter sports and tourism resources across regions, roll out a wider range of high-quality products and services, and encourage innovative consumption scenarios, said a statement released by the ministry on Tuesday.
The ministry said this move also seeks to create a more international and visitor-friendly consumption environment, promote the high-quality development of the ice and snow economy, and inject fresh momentum into domestic demand.
