KARACHI: The Pakistan Navy reaffirmed its operational readiness and war fighting capability as it successfully conducted live firing of a surface-to-air missile (SAM) in the north Arabian Sea on Sunday.

During the firepower demonstration, a PN ship successfully engaged highly manoeuvrable aerial targets, thereby reaffirming the navy’s war fighting capability and combat potential, said a press release.

Commander Pakistan Fleet Rear Admiral Abdul Munib witnessed the FM-90 (N) ER SAM firing at the sea.

Later, he commended officers and men involved in the action for their commitment and professionalism.

He reiterated the navy’s unwavering resolve to ensure the seaward defence of Pakistan and to safeguard national maritime interests under all circumstances.
