The Chinese Consulate-General in Sydney has issued a safety reminder to Chinese nationals following a shooting at Bondi Beach in Sydney on Sunday, which left multiple people injured or killed.

In a notice posted on the consulate's official WeChat account, the consulate advised Chinese citizens living in New South Wales to closely monitor the local security situation, heighten personal safety awareness, take appropriate precautions, and keep mobile communications open. They were advised to immediately call local police and emergency services if they encountered any danger.

Local police have urged the public to avoid the area.
