Sixty skaters from 14 countries compete ISU Figure Skating Grand Prix in Chongqing
During Saturday night's closing ceremony for the ISU Figure Skating Grand Prix Cup of China 2025 in Chongqing, Shun Sato from Japan and Amber Glenn from the United States claimed victory in the Men's and Women's Free Skating events, respectively. In the Pairs Free Skating, Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava from Georgia were the winners.
China's pairs champions, Sui Wenjing and Han Cong, the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic pairs champions, made a memorable return to competition, securing a bronze medal after more than three years away.
As the second stop in the ISU Grand Prix series, this event featured 60 top skaters from 14 countries and regions, serving as a warm-up for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, the organizers said.
According to the Chinese Figure Skating Association's Olympic qualifying rules, only the best-performing skater, or pair, ranked by their accumulated scores from the Chongqing Grand Prix and the national championships in December, will represent the country at the Milano-Cortina Games.
The three-day event concluded with an exhibition gala on Sunday afternoon in Chongqing's Banan district.
