This year marks the 80th anniversary of Taiwan's restoration. China's national legislature on Friday voted to designate Oct 25 as the Commemoration Day of Taiwan's Restoration. As Wu Yongping, director of the Taiwan Institute at Tsinghua University, explains in the documentary Stories across the Strait, the restoration of Taiwan holds profound significance for the Chinese nation, the people of Taiwan, as well as the post-World War II international order.
