Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun reiterated that China advocates a peaceful resolution to the Iranian nuclear issue through political and diplomatic means, which is the only correct way out, after an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that Iran, Britain, France and Germany would hold nuclear talks in Istanbul on Friday.

Speaking at a daily news briefing, Guo said that the Iranian nuclear issue concerns the peace and security of the Middle East and the international nuclear non-proliferation system.

China calls on relevant parties to meet each other halfway and make efforts to push the Iranian nuclear issue back on the track of political settlement, Guo added.
