Xi says ceasefire an urgent priority in Middle East

BEIJING -- Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Thursday that ceasefire must be an urgent priority in the Middle East.

Xi made the remarks during his phone talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the call, the two leaders exchanged views regarding the situation in the Middle East.

Xi urges conflicting parties, especially Israel, to cease fire as soon as possible

Xi says top priority is to protect civilians' safety amid Iran-Israel tensions

Xi calls on conflicting parties to strictly follow intl law, resolutely avoid harming innocent civilians
