More than 20 illustrators at home and abroad, including Italy, France, Brazil and Singapore, worked together to create illustrations for China in Comics: Journey of Friendship to a Shared Future, a vivid, informative picture book tracing the formation of the ancient Silk Road and advancing the high-quality cooperation.
The book was recently launched in Beijing by the CICG Center for Asia and Pacific, of China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, who signed a publishing deal with Xinhua Winshare Publishing and Media Co Ltd.
The book reenacts scenes from the past showing trades and cultural exchanges between ancient China and cultures along the Silk Road. Artists also juxtapose the past bonds with new ones — the communications and exchanges formed today to strengthen relations between members of the Belt and Road Initiative.
