Restaurant fire claims 22 lives in Liaoning

A deadly fire broke out at a restaurant in Liaoyang, Northeast China's Liaoning province, on Tuesday, resulting in 22 deaths, local emergency management authority said.
The fire occurred at around 12:25 pm near a residential building in the city's Baita district. As of 2 pm, the incident had caused 22 deaths and 3 injuries.
Following instructions from top leadership, the Ministry of Emergency Management has dispatched a working group to the scene to guide emergency response efforts, Xinhua News Agency reported.
Local provincial and municipal governments have mobilized resources to carry out rescue and response operations.
Currently, rescue efforts and post-incident response are underway at the site, the report said.
