C919 jetliner marks 'China Film Consumption Year' with themed flight
A themed flight echoing the "China Film Consumption Year" was conducted on April 19 by China's self-developed jet C919 from the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to Beijing, which is the host city of the ongoing 15th Beijing International Film Festival, according to the flight operator China Eastern Airlines.
Jointly launched by the China Film Administration, China Eastern Airlines and CCTV, the themed flight offered the 160 passengers onboard an immersive trip of various cinematic elements of classic Chinese movies.
In addition to the visual features, passengers could also savor themed cuisines specially prepared for the flight.
"These high-quality Chinese movies have not only accompanied me through lots of great times but also inspired me in life. I truly hope the 'China Film Consumption Year' a complete success, which can attract travelers at home and abroad with a love for film culture," said Zhong Tingde, the captain of the themed flight.
The themed flight is one of China Eastern's latest efforts in innovating and integrating aviation with culture and tourism in the past few years, according to the Shanghai-based carrier.
