A large-scale afforestation project was launched in 2022 in the northern and southern mountains of Lhasa, Xizang autonomous region. [By Palden Nyima/chinadaily.com.cn]

The region is also building more native nurseries in cities such as Lhokha, Shigatse, and Nyingchi to address the shortage of indigenous tree species.
