Prior to the special train bound for Bijie, another two special trains had already set off on the same day, heading to Chongqing municipality and Nanning, the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, carrying migrant workers on their journey home.
After Spring Festival, Guangdong's human resources and social security authorities will also organize special trains and chartered buses for workers returning to their workplaces.
During the Spring Festival travel rush this year, 30 such trains and 300 chartered buses will be arranged by Guangdong authorities for migrant workers.
