5.0-magnitude earthquake hits Xinjiang, no casualties reported

URUMQI -- A 5.0-magnitude earthquake hit Weili county, Bayingolin Mongolian autonomous prefecture in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region at 1:35 am Tuesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter was monitored at 40.89 degrees north latitude and 84.15 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 20 km, the center said in a statement.
Currently, there are no immediate reports of casualties, according to local authorities.
