Attracting the keen and fascinated attention of hordes of visitors, the Shandong Handicrafts Exhibition and Promotion Event – staged in Rome, capital of Italy on May 6 – enchanted folks with its great display of traditional craftsmanship and cultural heritage.

The event showcased the wonderful artistry and rich heritage of the hand-crafted items from the province in East China, offering a glimpse into its vibrant cultural landscape.

Over 20 handcraft and time-honored brands from cities across the province – including the capital Jinan, as well as the cities of Qingdao, Zibo, Zaozhuang, Yantai, Jining, Linyi, Liaocheng and Heze – took center stage.

A cornucopia of colors and textures festooned the exhibition hall, as Italians checked out the intricate details of woodblock New Year paintings, the elegance of traditional hanfu, the flowing grace of horse-faced skirts, the ingenuity of Luban locks, the vibrant hues of kites, the delicate needlework of Lu embroidery and the intricate and delicate beauty of paper-cuttings.

Over 420 items – each embodying the essence of Shandong's cultural heritage – went on display, offering a tangible connection to the province's rich history and artistry.
