The Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB) received approval to set up a branch in the Lin-gang Special Area in Shanghai on Dec 1.

KCAB is the only statutory permanent commercial arbitration institution in South Korea and was selected as a noteworthy arbitration institution among Asia in the Global Arbitration Review from 2017 to 2020.

It is allowed to conduct international arbitration cases of civil and commercial disputes in international commercial, maritime affairs, and investment field after registration. Its businesses cover case acceptance, trial, hearing, adjudication, case management and services, business consultation, guidance, training and seminars.

This opening of the branch highlights Lin-gang's commitment to fostering international collaboration and promoting alternative dispute resolution methods. The registration of the Korea Arbitration Shanghai Center is a testament to Lin-gang's efforts in creating a conducive environment for diverse arbitration institutions that contribute to the region's development as a hub for global arbitration.
