Trade cooperation no excuse for UK's official exchanges with China's Taiwan: Embassy
Share - WeChat
Question: According to media reports, the UK and Taiwan recently held the 26th annual UK-Taiwan Trade Talks and signed a so-called Enhanced Trade Partnership Arrangement. What is your comment?
Embassy Spokesperson: China has always firmly opposed any form of official contact between countries that have diplomatic relations with China and China’s Taiwan region. We urge the UK to abide by the one-China principle and stop using trade cooperation as an excuse to engage in official exchanges or enhance substantive relations with Taiwan.
