Defense Ministry dismisses rumor of sub crash

China's Defense Ministry on Thursday denied the claim a Chinese Type-093 nuclear-powered submarine crashed in the Taiwan Strait.
At a news conference held in Beijing, Defense Ministry spokesman Wu Qian said the claim is "purely a rumor" in response to a question on the matter.
"We hope the public pays attention to authoritative information instead of being misled," he said.
