An online promotional event for the sixth China International Import Expo was held on June 21 to attract exhibitors from Kazakhstan.

More than 30 enterprises from the country attended the event.

Su Yu, minister counselor for economic and commercial affairs at the Chinese embassy in Kazakhstan, said during the event that he hopes more Kazakh organizations and enterprises would establish closer partnerships with Chinese enterprises through the CIIE and introduce their high-quality products to Chinese consumers.

Liu Fuxue, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, said that Kazakhstan is an important participant of the CIIE.

According to Liu, Kazakh enterprises have participated in the expo for five consecutive years. The intended transaction volume of these companies during the previous editions of the expo reached $430 million.

He added that the CIIE has played a significant role in familiarizing more Chinese consumers with distinctive products from Kazakhstan such as candies, dairy products, and fruit juices.

A director from QazTrade Center for Trade Policy Development Joint-Stock Company said the CIIE is one of the most important international events for QazTrade. She mentioned that the company is mobilizing enterprises from Kazakhstan to attend this year’s expo.

During the event, the CIIE Bureau staff also introduced the features of the food and agricultural products exhibition area.
