Ricardo Soares appointed head coach of Beijing Guoan

BEIJING - Ricardo Soares has been appointed head coach of Beijing Guoan to replace Stanley Menzo, the Chinese Super League (CSL) club announced on Thursday.
Soares, born in 1974, once coached Gil Vicente at Primeira Liga and Egypt's Al Ahly Sporting Club.
Beijing Guoan, currently the seventh in the CSL table, welcomed the Portuguese head coach and showed high hopes for the team under his leadership in the announcement.
