"We are home now," Gao Binghan, an 88-year-old veteran from Taiwan, said while touching an urn containing the remains of his fellow soldier when he arrived at Heze, East China's Shandong province, on Sunday.
Gao, a native of Heze, has sent back remains of around 100 of his fallen comrades to their hometowns on the Chinese mainland over the past three decades.
"In my heart, he has not 'gone'..I told him 'bro, bro, we are home, we are home.' He is still alive in my heart," Gao said.
