Number of positive COVID-19 cases declining
The COVID-19 epidemic situation in Beijing is stable, as the rate of positive cases detected among hospital patients with flu-like symptoms in the capital is continuously falling, the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control said on Monday.
It said that new infections are still occurring occasionally, and the dominant strains remain BF.7 and BA.5.2.
Data show that the number of patients exhibiting flu-like symptoms and the percentage of such cases among all hospital visits are trending downward and have dropped to pre-epidemic levels.
Last week, the number of positive cases fell by 92.2 percent from the peak of the most recent COVID-19 outbreak.
Meanwhile, 4.7 percent of the 683 respiratory samples collected from patients showing flu-like symptoms tested positive for the disease, down from 5.1 percent the previous week.
