An exhibition featuring 50 photos depicting Taizhou's scenery, folk customs, and wood carving works recently kicked off in its sister city of Nevers in France.
The exhibition, which was sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Taizhou Municipal Committee and the Taizhou Municipal Office of Foreign Affairs, will last for 18 days.
Among the visitors to the event were Denis Thuriot, mayor of Nevers, and the city's councilor Chrystel Pitoun.
Taizhou and Nevers have maintained friendly exchanges for many years, and this exhibition will help the people of Nevers better understand Taizhou, noted Thuriot. He also expressed hope that the event would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.
Similar promotional events have been held in countries including Germany, Poland and Japan.
Nevers, which is located 200 kilometers away from Paris, is a famous historical and cultural city in central France. The city, which is a manufacturing hub for auto parts, is dubbed the "French hometown of the glaze ceramics and crafts".
Nevers became the first European city to establish a sisterhood relationship with Taizhou in 2006.
